Types of Offences
I practise exclusively in the area of criminal law. Here are some of the types of cases I can help you with:
Drug Offences
I have extensive experience defending against allegations of drug trafficking offences contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Please note that I do not accept Legal Aid for these matters.
Sexual Assault
I have represented many clients accused of Sexual Assault over the course of my career. I am well-versed in the complex pretrial motions that characterize many sexual assault trials.
Assault
In general, I only take on assault cases that are particularly serious. This includes all cases of Aggravated Assault and Assault with Choking. I will also take on cases of simple assault or assault with a weapon if the Crown is proceeding by indictment.
Robbery and "B&E"
I take on cases of Robbery and Break and Enter into a dwelling house. I no longer take on cases of theft, fraud, or mischief.
Summary Conviction Appeals
In cases where the Crown has proceeded summarily at trial, the Appeal is done before the Superior Court of Justice in the same jurisdiction.
Appeals to the Ontario Court of Appeal
In cases where the Crown has Proceeded by Indictment, or if you wish to appeal an decision of the Superior Court on a Summary Conviction Appeal, the appeal will be heard before the Ontario Court of a Appeal in Toronto.
